Weekend in Oshkosh!

The kids and I traveled with Grandma Case and Jayda to Oshkosh for the weekend. We stayed at Aunt Bonnie's house and had a great time!! Cole especially loved playing with Kade and Zach, and Rylie loved playing with Jayda and Emily. I barely heard a peep out of either kid the entire weekend.
The trip itself was kind of a mess. On the way we stopped at McDonalds in Eau Claire to eat dinner. After we ate, we took the kids to the bathroom and headed on our way. It took us until about 11pm to get to Aunt Bonnie's house. We stayed up talking for a bit and went to sleep. Saturday morning I realized that my diaper bag was missing. Turns out, I left it in the bathroom at McDonalds 3 hours away! I called, and luckily they had it in the office so we picked it up on the way home Sunday.
Saturday was my cousin's son's birthday party. We all had fun catching up with family and the kids played at the playground pretty much the entire time. Afterwords we rode the train at Menomonie Park and then went to Rocky Rococo's for some pizza.
Sunday morning we ate some delicious donuts and packed our things. We almost left several items there at the house, but the kids kept finding our stuff and bringing it to us. Next time we travel I'm bringing my packing list and making sure we're taking everything back home! I was so scatter brained the entire weekend, it's amazing that I didn't leave a kid behind!

Boys... during Cole's Hooked On Phonics lesson he needed to make the word "but" with letter cards. He was too busy giggling and saying "butt" over and over to make the word.

The things kids say...

Last weekend I took the kids to church while Matt was at work. When I went to pick up Cole from Sunday school he was coloring a picture of a cross. When he saw me he yelled "Look Mom, the cross is decayed!" Another little girl told her dad that her cross was decayed also. Thanks Sid the Science Kid for teaching my 4 year old about decay!

Conversation with (almost) 3 year old Rylie:
Mom: What do you want to be for Halloween?
Rylie: I don't know, what do you want to be for Easter?
Mom: *laughing* Um I want to be a Mom.
Rylie: Oh, a baby one?

This morning I was in a crabby mood. We just found water in our basement and are imagining thousands of dollars worth of repairs. We just "celebrated" our 5th wedding anniversary by Matt working overnight the day before, Rylie up all night with storms, and both of us on a couple hours of sleep. I come out of our room just grumpy and not wanting to start the day. I look at Rylie as she pulls out her pajama bottoms and looks down saying "I hope I have underwear on."

These kids crack me up. I always forget about the funny things they do and say so I wanted to start writing them down in here. I'll miss it so much when they aren't little anymore!!
